Description
The Hertz SP4.500 is a continuation of the SP line of fantastic, powerful amplifiers that can handle any environment. This is a completely new product.
We're taking the first pre-orders now. Available in September.
The SP 4.500 is the first Hertz amplifier to feature the new Hertz ADC (Advanced D-Class) output stage, achieving up to 85% efficiency and delivering an impressive rated power of 160 x 4 (4 Ω) W RMS or 500 W x 2 (4 Ω) W RMS when bridged, in an ultra-compact 211.6 x 130 mm footprint. The SP4.500 is the ideal choice for motorcycle applications thanks to its size and enormous power output.
Hertz ADC technology ensures that the SP 4.500 outperforms ordinary ultra-compact amplifiers, delivering an exceptional S/N ratio of 105 dBA and 0.02% THD, and almost completely eliminating EMI and RFI interference for unparalleled sound quality.
This versatility is perfect to drive high power (4Ω) front speakers with a bridged (4Ω) subwoofer.
The SP 4.500 is fully protected against overheating and DC outputs, instantly switching to protection mode (red LED lit) to save your speaker system.
The IP55-rated aluminum housing provides maximum protection from moisture and external factors, while the absence of an internal cooling fan prevents dirt buildup. The SP 4.500 motherboard is coated with a conformal coating to prevent damage from internal condensation, which can occur when warm, humid air comes into contact with the amplifier's lower-temperature chassis.
All controls are protected by a removable aluminum panel to make the SP 4.500 IP55 compliant, preventing moisture from entering the switches.
The SP 4.500 features a built-in sealed power cable, line inputs, and speaker outputs, ensuring safe power even in the harshest weather conditions. A robust power harness provides an ultra-stable power and ground connection, preventing vibration-induced loss of contact. Due to its specialized design, the SP 4.500 is the best option for motorcycle applications.
The SP 4.500 has a built-in USS (Universal Speaker Simulator), a dynamic load circuit on the Hi-Level inputs that initially presents the OEM output channel with a load low enough to neutralize the OEM speaker output muting protection circuit. Once the circuit is activated, a higher load is introduced – still low enough to attenuate the Class D outputs, but not low enough to cause current or heat dissipation issues.
The SP 4.500 offers both remote input signal detection and DC offset detection on the speaker inputs for automatic turn-on, ensuring complete integration with any vehicle.
The universal crossover filters and control knob are located on one side to allow for easy calibration once the product is installed.
The filter section features extremely flexible high-pass and low-pass crossovers, adjustable from 50 Hz to 5 kHz with a 12 dB/octave slope. Together with a bass boost control (45 Hz, 0-8 dB), they allow both front channels to be configured for full-range operation or for use with a subwoofer and associated speakers.
The high-pass crossover can also be used to optimize the performance of the high-performance SPL Show sx165neo, sx690neo, and sv165neo coaxial loudspeakers.
